[solved]resizing windows over vnc

i am accessing my raspberrypi with tigervnc . when i try to resize a window on the virtual desktop of the raspberry pi, the mouse pointer doesn't change as i get to the edge of the window.

makes it hard to know when the pointer has locked on the window so i can drag it.

couldn't find much about it searching the forums and web.  I posted the issue on the tigervnc forum and one of the devs said it is a known bug with Arch.  But I couldn't find anything in the bug tracker.

[solved] not sure how or why, but now it's working.
