[SOLVED] Nvidia X Server Setting and G-Sync

Hi, guys.

G-Sync is enabled on startup through Nvidia X Serv and I was wondering if there is any way to disable it. Maybe through some configuration file or something?
I didn't have any issues with the 440 drivers, but the new 450 causes my screen to go into sleep mode right after I log into my account. The only way to "fix" this is to open the app, and the screen magically comes back to life.

I am 100% sure that the culprit is "Enable G-Sync/G-sync compatible".

nvidia-settings has a checkbox to set/disable this. But I somewhat doubt that this is the cause

Yeah, the real issue is probably somewhere else, but I despise G-Sync anyway and I never have it enabled so just fixing it so that it is disabled at startup would suffice.

I'm a simple guy, so a simple fix would be good enough for me

Well yes the fix is to disable that there, what's the problem? does the setting not stick? see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … a-settings

That actually did the trick... seems like the problem was that (I assume?) it automatically loads xorg.conf instead of the nvidia-settings config.

Should I keep the xorg or can I delete it? Compared to nvidia-settings it seems kinda "poor" so, unless I need it, I'd like to delete it
