changing xfce panel size

I'd like to make xfce4 panel as wide as my screen, but keeping the small size height.

Asuming you're using the latest stable XFCE and not the development branch, the only way I know for doing it is by using the xfce4-taskbar-plugin. You can place it in the panel and configure it to expand to fill screen. It would look like this:
