Please make clear what OS host and guest are running.
Do host and guest use the same version of virtualbox ?
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Host - Arch - latest kernel
Guest - pure virtual machnie - wanted to install Arch as a guest (from scratch)
I'm not sure if this is important but sometime ago I've been using LTS kernel and there was virtualbox-host-dkms installed in my system (Arch host system).
Now I use mainline kernel. And when I realized that I should use virtualbox-host-dkms-arch. To be honest I don't know if I should or it could stay virtualbox-host-dkms but after reinstalling packages I succeeded in Arch install.
From time to time there is strange behavior like my first post. It seems like enter key press and hold for few seconds so terminal is jumping to the next line manyyyy times.
During installation when I had to edit fstab (adjust btrfs options) I used vim. When I wander to delete few characters I had to pres 'x' key many times. When 'x' was pressed for about a second and then released character deletion continued.
Now I have clean Arch installed. My problem wasn't solved yet but it works. It's my training machine.
Since 07.2020 I have problem with full screen but there is thread open here: Dimmed screen and my knowledge about Arch is not good enough to solve it.
