Rec request: How best to make keymaps similar to OS X

Moved to Arch recently from OS X, missing my old key maps. I did a couple quick basic things, swapping caps lock and ctrl, but many of the defaults annoy me (Ctrl-Shift c|v as opposed to System c|v for copy paste, System for window swapping, etc).

Curious if anyone else has a keybinding file or application they'd be able to share. Tried https://github.com/rbreaves/kinto but after a bit of playing around it seems to do some weird stuff.

Welcome to Arch - we expect you to research our Wiki before attempting to try random 3rd party guides and utilities - please start at Keyboard Shortcuts and go from there.

@thor314 I am the author of kinto.sh. If you are having some issues with it then please open a ticket for me on my repo and I will address the problem there.

Unfortunately despite all the documentation that is out there for remapping keys on linux to be more mac like none of them will quite cover what all needs to occur for things to remap fully if you are really going for an exact feel of how mappings work on a mac. The primary issue being the lack of any mechanism to allow for dynamic key rebindings based on the app type, unless you want to write or use a crude & potentially unstable shell script file that uses xprop to accomplish that.

If you use Kinto though then make sure sure any modifier key options in the OS's UI that you might have set prior are undone. Kinto cannot and will not detect any remappings you've done outside of its application, so if you double up on remappings then unexpected remappings will occur.
