How to disable i915 in laptop?

Specs of my Laptop:

I was using kernel 5.6 and wanted to upgrade it to 5.8 After restart everything was fine, until I use programs that use GPU like alacritty, kitty, blender. After this everything "frozen" but programs still runs, I can turn on new programs, click on something but dont see this on display. I changed i3 to xmonad, xfce, lxqt and everywhere was this problem. I even reinstalled system. I searched for similars problem and found this: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=256520&p=3
I tried do like them (add to default grub line, enable in kernel iommu), but that doesn't help. Is there any solution fo this or how to disable for all i915? In bios/uefi I can only block ATI/AMD card.

Re: How to disable i915 in laptop?

Since the internal output is most likely wire to the intel chip, you don't want to do that itfp. (because even if you render on the dedicated chip, the signal still has to go across the IGP and therefore that must remain accessible)

Do you try to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PRIME somehow?
Start to narrow the problem by removing xf86-video-intel, if that doesn't help, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/In … leshooting

Re: How to disable i915 in laptop?

I tried with xf86-video-intel and without it - nothing change.
Crap, I was so sure that PRIME is only intel+nvidia... I make
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-gpu.conf

    Screen 0 "radeon"
    Inactive "intel"
EndSection

EndSection

Section "Screen"
    Identifier "radeon"
    Device "radeon"
EndSection

Section "Device"
    Identifier "intel"
    Driver "intel"
    BusID "PCI:0000:00:02.0" # Sample: "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
    Identifier "intel"
    Device "intel"
EndSection

But if I restart system, SDDM don't want start

Re: How to disable i915 in laptop?

The log file doesn't reflect your 10-gpu.conf, but loads the intel driver for the primary GPU (did you re-install it?) and radeon as secondary.

You'll at least have to redirect the output (xrandr in /usr/share/sddm/scripts/Xsetup) but I'm still not sure that you want to do this at all.
Did you have a look at the intel troubleshooting stuff (notably DRI3 … and everything else)?
