Hi, my laptop is a HP pavilion gaming 15-ec1015ns.
The problem is that the touchpad only works in live cd, but it doesn't work when the OS has been istalled.
In the other hand the touchpad which is a "ETPS/2 Elantech Touchpad" is only recognized when I used the i8042.nopnp flag in boot option, but even when recognized it doesn't work.
xinput shows it, libinput list-devices shows it, but it won't work, any help?

You should can try one of two things the first is take a look here Touchpad_Synaptics once you have created the Synaptics conf reboot machine and you should be golden below is something similar that also worked in the past but the information in the first link is better
the second is create a file in /etc/X11/ with the name xorg.conf (if there is none) and append to file this:
