Xrandr does not detect monitors

I removed

xf86-video-nouveau xf86-video-vesa xf86-video-fbdev

I installed

nvidia-340xx

I have 2 "NVIDIA Quadro NVS 450" cards connected to 8 monitors. Only detects 2 monitors

Did you have the problem before generating the xorg.conf?
Compare the xorg logs of both systems.

@euromatlox, the OP has 2 VGA devices that he must combine somehow™ (or he'll end up w/ two independent screens, 4 outputs each)

Edit, maybe outputprovider redirection is also possible (xrandr --listproviders)

Wayland in Manjaro ? If yes, it explains why you use a generated xorg.conf, and not copy it from Manjaro. I guess some wiser guy than me can tell, if there are major differences between xorg.conf in different Linux distros, to prevent that kind of file copying.

None of these things

I was thinking about Manjaro ... And figured I'd install Debian. During the installation, I chose to install KDE.

On Debian, I opened what I currently have on Arch.

The open drivers in the xserver-xorg-video-nouveau package have been installed. I uninstalled them. I installed closed drivers from Nviadia and I have the same problem as in Arch.

I believe the Nouveau graphics card drivers are still not turned off in the kernel. In Debian, I was unable to disable Nouveau using → https://askubuntu.com/questions/841876/ … nel-driver or even → https://superuser.com/questions/1484109/debian -10-hybrid-graphics-how-to-use-nvidia-drivers-instead-of-nouveau

It is logical why Manjaro saw the monitors. Nviadia closed drivers installed by default, leave no configuration in Nouveau kernel.

This is just my assumption. I check on Arch.

That last part doesn't make much sense. And your initial post shows that nvidia is the actively used driver. There's no nouveau loaded here.

I'm fairly certain Manjaro doesn't ship the prop drivers on the ISO, so if you haven't done anything conscious to enable the nvidia driver it's more likely you are actually on nouveau on Manjaro now. As mentioned actually compare the kernel and xorg logs.

What's a fact right now is that you are running the nvidia and not nouveau drivers on Arch

If you know that this used to work you need to find whatever configuration you had that made this work

As long as that xorg.conf remains there, this will unlikely work. Iff, you'd need an xorg.conf that references both VGA devices and links them using xinerama.
=> Remove the xorg.conf and post an updated log as well as the outstanding "xrandr --listproviders"

I'm not aware of another way to combine multiple GPUs into one screen w/o SLI support.
The listed provider doesn't support offloading nor acting as a sink either.

You could still run 4 independent screens à 2 outputs, but you will have to run 4 WMs/DEs (and not all, certainly not the bigger DEs, play well with this) and you cannot move windows among screens.

Do you have knowledge if 4 "NVIDIA NVS 310" graphics cards will solve the problem?

As I wrote in another post, I had 3 "NVIDIA NVS 300 Dual-VGA" cards and was able to work with them (Nouveau drivers).

I can change the cards to other ones, not Nvidia, but for the cooperation of 8 monitors to work. Do you know what these cards are? I looked on the internet but found none similar, except → https://www.phoronix.com/forums/forum/l … t-xinerama

Those GPUs don't seem SLI capable and you'd still need HW SLI to use more than 3 outputs (artificial limitation in the driver) and outside of notebook/optimus chips there seems little support for output source/sink configs (so you could render everything on one GPU and use the others as VGA proxies)

I replaced it with 4 x NVIDIA NVS 310 cards and it works
