Toroidal desktop

Hi,

I'd like to turn my desktop into a torus — namely configuring my system so that moving the cursor past the left edge of display makes it appear from the right edge (and vice versa) and the same holding for bottom & top edges of display.
I tried to find a relevant configuration tool but to no avail (would you believe nobody tried it before?).

Is there a way to achieve this without too much trouble? Any pointers where to look for a solution are welcome.

Re: Toroidal desktop

This will depend on the desktop environment you use and also whether you want to change the workspace (ie. show a different set of windows) or "just" warp the pointer.

For a generic X11 desktop, eg. https://gist.github.com/ghedo/3690218 looks ok (there's no suspicious call in the code and it does what you want)
