archlinux on toshiba portege p2000 (2000)

Hi,
I just got toshiba portege 2000 from my employer with windows xp on it. I would really like to install my favourite system (archlinux) on it, but I have no idea how. The ways I excluded are:
1: CD instalation. The only cd-rom I have is on pcmcia, and I does not work on boon.
2: USB stick install. Portege 2000 wont boot from usb.

Do you have any ideas that could help me. I really like the hardware but I will give it to another employee if it doesn't run linux.

Thanks in advance,
mdv

Does it have a floppy drive? If yes, you could do a floppy install.

No. It does not. I could attach a floppy disk drive on PCMCIA, but I think it would be the same as CD on PCMCIA.

Do you have a desktop computer you can take apart?  You can get adapters pretty cheaply to let you plug laptop drives into your desktop IDE controller.  So unplug all the desktops hard drives, and put the laptop drive as hda, and install as normal wink

PXE install? Does it boot of the network?

Or resize the windows partition, install grub (in windows) and boot of a partition with the install files?

This might help : Install GNU/Linux without any CD, floppy, USB-key, nor any other removable media

Edit : forgot to add the title of the web page

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
