screen turns off

Hi, randomly my screen turns off and although the computer seems to be on, i don't think it's doing much since downloads in amule and rtorrent don't go on. The only way to use the computer again is to restart (ctrl alt backspace doesn't work).

I'm using xfce and nvdia drivers.

I don't have an answer but first thing is to check the video cable on both sides and if it doesn't work try searching for your problem on linux nvidia forum.
