Periodic freezes after updating packages

Hi,

I recently updated my packages using "yay -Syu" and since then I' having 1 to 2 sec freezes every minute or so . Would you know how I could fix or find the cause of this problem ?
I'm running arch with linux kernel 5.9.1 on a Thinkpad Carbon X1 7th gen.

Also, I don't know if it might be related but I have the same freezes while emulating Windows 10 in VMware on the same laptop.

Are you, by any chance, using an Nvidia graphics card with the proprietary drivers?
In any case, the output of

dmesg

could be helpful to find out what's going on.

I'm not sure if I use the Nvidia graphics card drivers. Do you know where I should check to know which driver I use ?

You would have installed and configured them, assuming this is actually Arch and not the result of some installer script

I don't see anything suspicious in your provided dmesg log. To see what graphics card an driver you're using, please provide

lspci -nnk

@Scimmia I must have installed it a long time ago. But I think I have the Intel drivers since my laptop has a Intel UHD 620 graphics ?

So, you have an intel graphics card. That rules out the current problems with the Nvidia drivers as the culprit.
I have no experience with vmware and thusly cannot tell you how to debug any possible problems with it.
Maybe someone else might jump in here.
