Ctrl and Alt key stop working on host after running VMware Workstation

Hi all,

Whenever I run VMware workstation, the Ctrl and Alt key stop working on my Arch host running KDE Plasma.

This happens even after I shutdown the VM and exit VMware, so far the only thing that works for me is to do a full reboot.

Running xbindkeys shows the key binding has changed:

Before running VMware:

xbindkeys --key
Press combination of keys or/and click under the window.
You can use one of the two lines after "NoCommand"
in $HOME/.xbindkeysrc to bind a key.
"(Scheme function)"
    m:0x4 + c:37
    Control + Control_L

After running VMware:

xbindkeys --key

Any idea what happens? Or how I can rebind the key properly when using VMware?
