ethernet device not showing up

i'm using arch on my: cce ultrathin u45l

i've got ethernet and wireless working at some point, my objective is to when not using it as my stream manager i can just exit out of xfce and use continue using my samba server, i don't have a network switch i'm using a single ethernet cable connecting both of my computers and configuring a network manually, but now i'm unable to select my ethernet device when editin the configuration to establish my ethernet connection (i have difficuty in organizing/expressing my ideas plz be patient with me)

Hello,

So your samba server is on the CCE Ultrathin U45L ?

What do you mean by "editin the configuration" ? what configuration (there is tons of way to configure your network with Arch) ?

i've messed up my ethernet configuration, i didn't iven remember what i did exactly, something about installing a module of my ethernet card that was only at 100Mbit instead of 1000, now when I'm going to setup my configuration to Link both of my computers i can set my ip freely but my "network mask" (don't remember exactly the terminology) is jumping back to 24 instead of the desired 255.255.255.0 if there is some way to send a system log of some sort please let me know

What network manager are you using?  What module?  No details.  Restore your system to the default state and try again.  Too many unknowns.
