[solved]My system is X11, but KDE displays Xwayland has crashed?

I have KDE, Nvidia card (official drivers).

After suspend I got these messages in notification:

A graphic reset event occurred
Another application has requested to suspend compositing
Xwayland has crashed

What can I do about it? And how come Xwayland has crashed, I don't use Wayland?

Can I disable it or... ?

Apparently its just the way KDE displays this info, I have checked everything and there's definitely no Wayland running anywhere.

Wayland or not, the question that remains is can I do anything to prevent kwin restarting after suspend?

I'm aware Nvidia can cause all kinds of mess, but maybe some of these can be prevented?

Thanks!

Setting up the modern video memory preservation hooks is expected to help with issues like this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … er_suspend

Thanks. I hope I set it right:

1. Copy-pasted that line to nvidia-power.conf in modprobe.d
2. Created a dir for it to store vram data on the ssd.
3. Enabled nvidia-sunspend service in systemctl.

So far it seems it works, though I do get this message after suspend:

Desktop effects were restarted due to a graphics reset.

Hope it doesn't mean the driver crashed, just a note that it was suspended?
