/etc/rc.conf, 'locale -a' problem

I'm trying to change my system language but when I try to list of the available locales with 'locale -a' I get an error message.

error message:

locale cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory
locale cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory
C
POSIX

I'm using the swedish language.

Re: /etc/rc.conf, 'locale -a' problem

try uncommenting your locale in /etc/locale.gen then run locale-gen as root.

Re: /etc/rc.conf, 'locale -a' problem

it takes some time, until I realize, that the wikis cover quite a lot of problems and that quite a lot are comprehensive. And it's unusual to find the information pretty easily.

There might be a learning curve.
