Chrome + Chromium does not handle pdf properly on google drive

Hello I have some troubles with pdf handling over chromium and chrome in google drive.

When I upload pdf file (for example M_DU4_01.pdf) to google drive (usually directly or in my case even over google classroom) in google chrome or google chromium the file looks like incorrectly uploaded file and with not recognized pdf content:

However, when I upload it using firefox it recognizes content:

The issue here is, that incorrectly uploaded file shows incorrect icon, does not offer the preview in any browser and it is possible to download the file only to local drive. This is mainly issue for the teacher in the google classroom.
When I download that file, the content matches the original file (md5sum is the same).

I tried:
- different google user
- incognito mode
- different arch user
- another pdf files, some scanned, some downloaded from eshops, etc.
- to update chrome and chromium to the latest versions
The result is still the same.

When I add the pdf as the attachment in gmail, it shows the preview correctly.
I tried to upload it to dropbox, and it works.
I tried google chrome on Windows and it works.
Files like jpg, png, etc. are handled fine.

It looks like some older issue, because I can find the pdf from last November which has this issue too. Before this date, all pdf files were uploaded properly.

Do you have any tips how to solve this, please? Or what else to try?
