My arch install is not detected

I tried installing ubuntu server to an external harddrive for my server computer. I did it on my main pc running arch. The install went successfully but then i could boot arch only from an efi file. but after i boot it works. i am typing this from the same pc btw it shows in cfdisk that /dev/sda1 is there.

This just sounds like ubuntu has overriden your config, rerun the relevant configuration/install command from your boot loader for Arch.

If that isn't it you need to elaborate more. What did you install exactly what are you seeing when you boot and what does "only from an efi file" mean in terms of commands/chain of events? Maybe post the output of

efibootmgr -v
