[SOLVED]New update broke virt-manager

Hi,

Since last update when I try to start virt-manager I get this :

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/virt-manager", line 6, in <module>
    from virtManager import virtmanager
  File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/virtmanager.py", line 19, in <module>
    from virtinst import BuildConfig
  File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtinst/__init__.py", line 43, in <module>
    _set_libvirt_error_handler()
  File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtinst/__init__.py", line 33, in _set_libvirt_error_handler
    import libvirt
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'libvirt'

I tried downgrade virt-manager but get conflicts related to python

error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
virt-install: /usr/share/virt-manager/virtinst/__pycache__/__init__.cpython-38.pyc exists in filesystem
virt-install: /usr/share/virt-manager/virtinst/__pycache__/buildconfig.cpython-38.pyc exists in filesystem
virt-manager: /usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/__pycache__/__init__.cpython-38.pyc exists in filesystem
virt-manager: /usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/__pycache__/virtmanager.cpython-38.pyc exists in filesystem
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

I don't know much things about python's versions and modules conflicts and problems, i'd apreciate if someone with more knowledge could give some help to resolve this

Thanks

Re: [SOLVED]New update broke virt-manager

Sounds like a classic partial update. You can't update some things and not others. Further, you can't use community-testing without testing.

To downgrade, you're going to have to use --overwrite.

Re: [SOLVED]New update broke virt-manager

Thank you for your reply

I think i did a full upgrade cause pacman terminated without any problem, and I double checked because I suspected this too (just doing again pacman -Syu but maybe there's another way) .

I guess you are right the problem come from community-testing. Tbh I don't remember why I was syncing from there... I removed this and try to make a rollback update but i get the same error (conflicting files) after pacman -Syuu

Re: [SOLVED]New update broke virt-manager

Ok, I moved conflicting files and coming back to community repos with sucess. Everything seems working fine (just wait a little before changing topics's name)

Thanks again for your help
