Pacman sometimes refuse (the right) sudo password

It happens when I miss the password the 1st time or several attempts if my keyboard layout was changed, without me knowing. Or if the pacman/pass was somehow interrupted.

Then even when I enter the right sudo password next time, I cannot get in - says my pass is wrong even though it is not.

The workaround is to enter the SU environment (root) that does accept the password and then start pacman from there.

What's going on?
