Hello,
I am missing an option where I can change the keyboard layout. It should be in Systemsettings/Input devices/Keyboard, right? Problem is, there is no keyboard in the input devices section, only mouse and game controller.
I have installed the plasma meta package and rebooted. Can anyone help?
Bonus question: Is it possible to use a traditional menu?
Thanks!

Hi there,
I have the keyboard entry with 5.20.4 on X11.
Have you tried moving your kde/plasma config or loging in as a different user?
Or have a look at journalctl -xe .
What exactly do you mean by traditional menu?

Hi,
I have deleted .kde and .config/plasma*, and rebooted, but that did not help. I have been using old versions of KDE, so it is possible that an old setting is causing problems. Can you tell which directories/files are exactly being loaded?
Thank you and kind regards

PS: with traditional menu I mean the classic (“start”) menu.

All right, I got the classic menu. I had previously started plasma with ``startplasma-x11`` by configuring autlogin from gdm. I replaced gdm with sddm and interactive login, and now I have a classic desktop.
But still I have no keyboard layout. :-(

What's the output of running
kcmshell5 kcm_keyboardfrom a terminal?

The module cannot be found:
Das Modul kcm_keyboard wurde nicht gefunden. Der Befehl „kcmshell5 --list“ zeigt eine vollständige Liste der Module an.``kcmshell5 --list`` lists 85 modules, but none contains “keyboard“ in the name. There is, however, “kcm_keys” and “khotkeys”.

I think that this got me on track. A mere system upgrade was sufficient to fix it.
Thanks a ton! Problem is solved.
