Just wanted to clarify if I want to issue a manual trim to an SSD mounted at let's say /run/media/Storage_D/, would I use "sudo fstrim -v /run/media/Storage_D/"? I wouldn't need to use /dev/sda or the UUID????????????????????

Is there a question in this post or is it just a PSA about the manpage/help and error output of fstrim?
Online
I thought posting this in the Newbie Corner, under Technical Issues and Assistance would imply a question. I'll simplify.
I want to manually trim my secondary SSD. What is the proper way to identify that drive for the fstrim command? Is it the mount path, UUID, drive ID?

Read fstrim(8), the SYNOPSIS contains the information you need.

And fyi, it's typically a single question mark - often along appropriate grammar - that makes the difference between a factual statement and a question.
Welcome to the concept of language.

Thanks Head. Found it.
Seth. Why the need to be so toxic and condescending? Perhaps you can find some guidance from the Code Of Conduct manpage/help as I did from Heads suggestion? And fyi, that last "?" was rhetorical.

Like this section?
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … orrectness and in particular http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
Or did you seek to comply with https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … ther_users by your false claim "I'll simplify" and an exaggerated edit with 20 question marks (and still bad grammar) instead of *none*?
Or is "And fyi, that last "?" was rhetorical." meant to align with https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … o_trolling ?
Edit, and for a maximum benefit of the doubt: "let me please PSA the obvious" posts are displaced, but not uncommon at all (check the dustbin)

Seth. There's no reason to act this inferior to me. I've written 1 million lines of code, blind folded, in Z+++. Python has nothing on me. Java Script? BORING!!!! I don't even use a keyboard anymore. Too easy. If you get this upset over bad grammar, maybe find another cave to lurk in.
EDIT: I have 20,000 posts on the Gentoo forums!

As this is unlikely to go anywhere productive anymore and the question was answered, I'll be closing this.
