[SOLVED] Kernels 5.9.1, 5.9.10 & 5.9.12 do not start on my ASU SUX305U

Hi,

since the last couple of updates (I noticed it with 5.9.1, 5.9.10, 5.9.12) my Notebook (ASUS UX305U, Intel i7 with integrated grafics) does not start or it switches to black screen. Blind typing was of no success.

It also does not seem, that the kernel is using the external monitor port.

Using the actual LTS-Kernel works fine. I hope for any hints where and how to look for the root cause.

regards

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke … _KMS_start -- add the graphics module for the relevant chip, i915 in this case and regenerate the mkinitcpio image.

Thanks, I'll give it a try ... any idea, why it is different on LTS-Kernel?

So, finally, as described in the upper link, putting Modules = "i915" into etc/mkinitcpio.conf and running sudo mkinitcpio -p linux did it. Thanks a lot.
