Dont understand all the audio input/ouput

I'm running Arch on my X1 carbon gen 7 for about 2 months.

In alsamixer I have multiple input and output and I would like to understant what are they exactly. And especially capture and Dmic0 in input.

Discord seems tu use Dmic0 but chromium uses Capture.

Is there any way to make both one input ?

  replace the 0 with whatever index is correct acording to arecord -l

This is usually a question of logical mappings so "capture" might be simply the "good name" resp. there for backwards compatibility for the actual hardware control which should be dmic

To "properly" combine these you'd need to use something that reads ucm configurations and builds a proper profile/ports tree. So you'd use something like pulseaudio or pipewire.

When muting/demuting dmic0 (wich mute discord) the mute led won't toggle.
But when muting/demuting capture (which don't mute discord0 the mute led toggle.
That's a bit annoying
