2020 Screenshot Thread

Posting Guidelines

· DO NOT post full resolution screenshots!  You can use the convert command (pacman -S imagemagick) to make a thumbnail of your screenshot:

$ convert -resize 250x250 screenie.png thumb-screenie.png

Sizes Twenty percent of the original size is great for 1024x768 screenies. For bigger sizes (and especially for multi-monitor setups), we ask you to keep in mind not everyone uses broadband, and use an even smaller size (10% of a Full HD setup will still be 192x108, for example).

NOTE: Anything wider than 250px or over 50Kb in size will be removed.

You can then upload these images to your server and use the following code to show them on the forum:

· Several websites offer free image hosting.

Use the "thumbnail for forums" link code that is supplied by the image host to post your thumbnail link.

· Once the new year begins please do not post new screenies in the old threads.

· If the screenshot has questionable material that might not be safe to view while at work or in a school setting, please post only a link and not a thumbnail, along with a mention of "Not Safe for Work". Posts that do not adhere to this are subject to deletion without notice at any time.

· Please try to include any links to your wallpaper or configs that you may have and/or the names of your icon theme, running apps, DE, etc. in the same post to reduce unnecessary clutter later.

Dell XPS 15" 7590 i7 + 16GB RAM 1TB + M.2 SSD + 1920x1080 (wanted better battery life over 4K UHD).  Running i3-gaps + mpd + ncmpcpp + vmware Workstation Pro (Win10 Pro) + a bunch of other stuff.

Both kernels are heavily stripped and feature:

* Select Debian patches
* PREEMPT (no rt patches)
* Select Clear Linux patches
* Custom gcc patch (based on graysky2)
* linux-hardened patch (rebased)
* Wireguard 0.0.20200318

All desktop features retained including support for touchscreen.

Standard KDE-Plasma icons and neofetch to show information.

I'm a big fan of Arizona scenery wallpapers, and I liked the specific colors on this one that was close to both the blue Arch icon and the colors of the Firefox icon launch feedback on KDE-Plasma. I have several landscapes saved that I change for whatever mood I'm in.

I have been writing a python class to control an FY-6800 arbitrary waveform generator.

For fun, I took the Arch Linux 1 color logo, found the edges using Gimp, and created a png file.
A python program then took that imagine and turned it into vectors by analyzing the shortest route that could be taken between the points in the image.
Then the program created two waveforms, one defining the x coordinates, the other defining the y coordinates as a function of time for the parametric data set created before.
Those waveforms were uploaded to the arbitrary waveform generator, Ch1 was programmed to output X, Ch2 to output Y; those channels fed to my oscilloscope in XY mode....

Clean and simple Arch with KDE inspired by archlinux.org (the blue line under panel especially).

Wallpaper was made by me, so the resolution is only 1366x768.

Tint2 for launchbar and status bar (execping file provided by headless conky)
Tint2 for window management
Another tiny desktop conky
xfce4-terminal (Consolas 11)
