Hi there,
I am trying to get the full 5120x2880 resolution of my monitor over Thunderbolt 3 using a dual DisplayPort to TB3 adapter on Intel graphics using Intel HD Graphics 630.
The monitor takes two DisplayPort inputs, each with a resolution of 2560x2880 and then tiles the two together to make one image at 5120x2880.
I'm using the StarTech TB32DP2T adapter:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/StarTech-TB32D … hunderbolt
I can get the adapter to display 3840x2160 on both outputs from the adapter but can't seem to garner the full resolution. This works fine under Windows 10 but can't seem to get it to work under Linux, despite the fact that it seems to be happy enough to give a display output over TB3 for different screens.
There are two things I can get out of the adapter:
- display at 3840x2160 using only one of the inputs to the monitor
- blank screen with 2560x2880 reported by xrandr
I believe the second result is where the monitor has tried to work in 5K mode but failed.
I'd love to get this to work, any suggestions are helpful.
Thanks.
EDIT: Looks like it only detects one input, only DP-2 is listed as connected at 2560x2880. I assume I should see a second input as 2560x2880 if I wanted to configure the screen using something like xinerama.
Not sure why I'd only be seeing just DP-2 and not DP-1.
