Hello,
this is kind of an interesting problem I have not seen on forums yet. However, I hope someone will know.
Here is my wallpaper: https://ctrlv.link/6ZKK
Let's say it consists of 2 parts - the tree in the middle and the solid colour (the rest of it). I use i3wm and set this wallpaper using feh. However, a problem occurred. The solid colour is #2f343f normally and that is the exact colour I want to use. However, each time I set the image as a wallpaper, it changes the solid colour to 2e333e regardless to the fact the original colour on the image is 2f343f. Does anyone know why is this happening and if this can be solved?
Thank you.
Merry Christmas
Samo

I noticed a bug (?) in feh (?) where it leaves a "shadow" of other windows on the root pixmap when setting it which was rather prominent w/ a single colored/posterized background
(I initially thought my screen was burned in, cause it kinda looked like the CNN banner ;-)
Doen't seem to happen when I unmap all windows and set the background then.
Do you scale the image (--bg-fill) or does its geometry match your screen?

Yes, I actually use bg-fill in the configuration. However, the image has quite a good resolution and is in 16:9 which suits my display size. Could this be a problem?

Have you tried --bg-center?
(I'm pretty sure there's a bug in feh's rootpixmap setting somewhere, but wasn't sure whether it's maybe the nvidia blob - the behavior is not prefectly reproducible here)

I did it, on the first look problem looks solved. I will keep this opened for next 15-20 minutes during which I will be testing it.
Thank you a lot.
