Ratpoison Hooks

Hello,

I am tweaking my ratpoisonrc file and on the ratpoison page there is a mention of Hooks

I am unable to clearly understand the functions of Hooks . Can someone using ratpoison help me understand this please?

That page seems very clear to me.  Other than typing out the exact same information here, what do you hope to get?  What about it is confusing?  Are you stuggling to create a hook?  If so, what have you tried and what are the results?
