SSH ID authentication

Hi,

Is it possible to use my laptop's fingerprint scanner as an authentication for id_rsa passphrases? I have a relatively long password, and it's annoying if I make a typo. Could I use fprintd to authenticate?

Thanks, Jan van Rossum

Re: SSH ID authentication

As you are using an RSA key have you considered adding the key to an SSH agent?  GNOME Keyring also provides an SSH agent that can be unlocked on user login.
