Microsoft Store availability ł Games from MS Store

hello everybody,

whilst trying to figure out if Microsoft Store ( short: MS ) games are able to run on Arch, I couldn't find a single thread/topic that actually answers the question.
I know that this might be a stupid question in general since MS is an only-windows thing (is it tho?), but you never know what you find in the AUR or in this community so I'll rather ask.

why I'm interested in this?
I've played Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition for a long time now on the MS. The game was bought with a key which was obviously only for the MS so I can't transfer it to Steam or something like that.
I was just curious if there is actually a Launcher for MS "Apps".

I'm happy about every reply,
cheers!

Not sure whether wine supports the MS store, but if you can or already have the game data it should be playable with wine/dxvk.

Re: Microsoft Store availability ł Games from MS Store

Those store games might require some MS APIs that are not implemented in wine. (Maybe some xbox live services or UWP)

C:\Program Files\WindowsApps IIRC. If you can get the game files the only issue will be to make the game aware that you have an activation key. Maybe you can ask around in the VKx Discord, some Wine and Proton developers are there: https://discord.gg/atQykNZR
