WARNING: Not enough clusters for a 32 bit FAT!
…is the error message I get when trying to format a partition. I've tried resizing the partition, says it can't manage any upward resizing. Anyone have a clue what's up? I don't know what a cluster is.

More info is needed, partition size, partition layout, the used command, purpose, etc.

Partition size is 1048kb. I don't know what a partition layout is. Command was "mkfs.vfat -F32 /dev/sda1". I'm trying to reformat this partition after installing an Arch system on it because I'm trying to grub-install and I get the error "unable to identify a filesystem in hostdisk//dev/sda; safety check can't be performed." But I just formatted all three partitions with ext4 as my primary…

It may be a problem with the size of the sectors…but I have no idea how to resize a sector.

You don’t have to resize a sector..but 1024KiB is...too small, what guide did you follow?
Also, install arch into the fat32 of 1024KiBs??
In any way this is 1MiB, you will not be able to install grub into it anyways, something like 512MiB is close to the standard, 64MiB being the edgy minimum for an ESP.

Okay the reason the size is so small is because this is a grub boot partition, not primary. And this has worked for me at this size always in the past. I'll try resizing the partition.

NEVERMIND. I had the wrong partition. I was trying to install grub to bios_grub partition, not ESP. Think I got it now.

1024kB is only 1MB which is unreasonably small even for a boot partition (100MB would be "small" but currently sufficient if you don't use windows or plan to install a lot of kernels)
However, when you at some point actually have to deal w/ this small a disk/partition, just use fat16
