Recently I encountered a strange issue regarding sound. When no sound is playing, my speakers emit a strange rhythmic deep sound which sounds almost like a heartbeat. At first I thought my speakers are dying but it stops when their jack is disconnected. Another strange thing is, the sound stops also when I open PulseAudio Volume Control. It shows no application in the playback card (to examine this was the reason I went to pavucontrol in the first place) and a few seconds after I close it the sound resumes.
It's nothing critical (can work around by having pavucontrol open) but it's quite annoying.
I have absolutely no idea how should I approach tracking the source of the issue. I would be glad for any hints.
I'm running GNOME Shell 3.38.2 and pulseaudio 14.0.

snd_hda_intel has enabled power saving by default in the 5.10 kernel config (... again)
Create a file /etc/modprobe.d/disable_sound_powersave.conf (or whatever, name doesn't matter needs to end in .conf )
options snd_hda_intel power_save=0

This solved the issue. Thank you!
