I installed qtile in accordance with the Arch wiki. and using qtile's installation on their website.
I don't have a display manager installed. I intend to have qtile launch automatically. Currently I have dwm launching automatically.
This is my .xinitrc
#!/bin/sh
userresources=$HOME/.Xresources
usermodmap=$HOME/.Xmodmap
sysresources=/etc/X11/xinit/.Xresources
sysmodmap=/etc/X11/xinit/.Xmodmap
# merge in defaults and keymaps
if [ -f $sysresources ]; then
xrdb -merge $sysresources
fi
if [ -f $sysmodmap ]; then
xmodmap $sysmodmap
fi
if [ -f "$userresources" ]; then
xrdb -merge "$userresources"
fi
if [ -f "$usermodmap" ]; then
xmodmap "$usermodmap"
fi
# start some nice programs
if [ -d /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d ] ; then
for f in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/?*.sh ; do
[ -x "$f" ] && . "$f"
done
unset f
fi
nitrogen --restore &
picom &
exec dwmI tried to substitute dwm with qtile but when I started up all I had was my background. No commands would work.

Nevermind it works. It just launches on a screen I wasn't using by default. I substituted dwm with qtile in the .xinitrc
