[SOLVED] Cinnamon broken after upgrade of cinnamon-settings-daemon

hello!

after upgrading the package "cinnamon-settings-daemon" today from 4.8.3-1 to 4.8.4-1 cinnamon was quite broken. the screen settings and screensaver config was changed, black desktop background, no panel elements visible except date/clock, no menu icons visible, desktop icons changed, ... journalctl said:

my system:
amd64, amdgpu, systemd, xorg, lightdm, cinnamon

downgrading cinnamon-settings-daemon to the previous version resolved the issue:

sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/cinnamon-settings-daemon-4.8.3-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

I was already going crazy here ...
Thanks for the post! But I still have the problem, because I did a clean installation today! That is, I have no other version in cache !!!

I don't even know if this is possible to do, but if it is, would you be able to download the package somewhere please?

Or is there any way to get an old version in some other way? I consulted the wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/do … g_packages
but I didn't find what I need

I reported the issue to cinnamon, just fyi: [https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/9853]

Luckily I also have xfce installed, so I can use that until the issue is fixed.

Your package is outdated, I uploaded the fix about 59 seconds before this thread was first opened.
