Boot stuck at "starting version 247.2-1-arch"

Hi,

I've got a fresh UEFI install on my PC (r5 5600x, nvidia rtx 3070), I'm duel booting the system with windows 10 using GRUB. Rebooting and starting arch seems to work fine until I install kde plasma and sddm, the system gets stuck. I've seen some similar topics posted in the past but following through them hasn't gotten anywhere.

So far I've tried
booting on fallback initramfs, adding random.trust_cpu=on to my kernal parameters (based of recommendation from [https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=246636] thread), and reinstalling arch.

What should I be trying next?

Your boot isn't stuck, SDDM  is borked. Did you test X before installing all that bloat a DM/DE? Read your journal/Xorg log.
