Neither OBS or FFMPEG are able to record audio

Heya. I've been using this install for ~6 months, and for whatever reason, I've never been able to get recording audio working. Playing audio works just fine, but recording or monitoring audio does not. Recording the desktop audio with FFMPEG outputs a silent file.

I have alsa-utils, pulseaudio, pulseaudio-alsa, pavucontrol and some other stuff installed for audio. I also tried creating virtual sinks to capture the audio with no luck.

I am more than happy to provide any necessary log or config files. I have no idea why this is happening, because I did a very similar install on another machine recently, and it works fine oob.

Hmmm... it appears that audio recording works when my USB wireless headset is unplugged... (Razer Nari Essential)

That just sounds like you didn't tell it to use the correct device, what's your outputs of

arecord -l
sudo fuser -v /dev/snd/*
pacmd list-sources
pacmd list-source-outputs

during a recording attempt
