Inclusion of -flto to builds worth anything?
I am curious if we have an opinion as to the utility or not of compiling with lto enabled by default. Lennart replied to someone who asked about compiling systemd with the switch to their ML earlier today which got me wondering: https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/ … 45853.html
I did grep for '-flto' in Arch Dev Public but found nothing contemporary.
Searching for the same in either of our svntogit repos also showed only a handfull of PKGBUILDs containing it:

Ubuntu 21.01 is planning to enable LTO [1] (along others, Fedora and OpenSUSE).

Reading that, we would need to add stripping of the LTO bytecode from any installed .o/.a to makepkg, otherwise roughly good to go.
