Persistence options

Sometimes it is handy to be able to install and save settings and packages when using arch install media. Boot options such as cow_device works fine and so does cow_directory.

Is there a way to load persistence post boot. Sometimes you forgot to add command line options or wish to reload a new directory or settings from possibly a new device?
