dual channel or not?

Hi folks,

I have two 8 GB banks of RAM. Both BIOS and CPU-Z on WIndows say they are in dual channel but on Linux it seems the opposite.

The output indicates your motherboard has 4 memory banks, and both your DIMMs are in bank 0 .
For dual channel that's  a typical placement, but to work in dual-channel mode the DIMMs need to have almost identical characterics .
Usually that's ensured by buying them in sets guaranteed to match .

Manufacturer & part Number differ so much, I'd be very surprised if those can function in dual-channel .
I suggest you open the case and compare the info on the dimms themselves to verify they're not a set .
