[solved] Can't mount /boot/efi at boot, unknown fs type vfat

Hello, I had a working Arch system on my laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 4th gen) and decided to update the firmware using 'fwupd'. It worked well.
But when I boot now it seems the initramfs does its job at decrypting Luks partition and recognizes LVM partitions. The boot process starts and mounts the root, home, swap, does filesystem checks... until it tries to mount '/boot/efi' and fails.
It then starts an emergency shell. I can login as root and apparently have access to all the commands and content of my partitions.
So I try to manually mount '/boot/efi' and it appears that 'vfat' is an unknown filesystem type.

I find it weird because obviously before the firmware update, the vfat partition was being mounted without issues during boot.

Any idea is welcome. Thanks.

Well I don't know what was the correct course of actions, but I decided to boot from Arch ISO and re-install grub and initramfs. I can now boot.
