Failed to start Load Kernel Modules after broken upgrade

OK, so I symlinked my pacman cache directory which I now understand was a bad idea.

That broke my upgrade so I used pacman-static and pacrecover to get back to some semblance of a working system.

Then I rebooted.

That resulted in an error saying that there was no vmlinuz. So I booted from the installer and chrooted. I mounted my root partition at /mnt_root and my boot partition at /mnt and copied everything over from /mnt_root/boot to /mnt

That allows me to boot, to a degree. Now I get the error message in the title of this post:

[FAILED] Failed to start Load Kernel Modules
[FAILED] Failed to mount /boot

I'm at a loss now as everything on my boot partition looks correct, but I'm no longer actually sure what I'm doing. Although the error log shows that the mount points are somehow incorrect, I think?

I've take a couple of pictures to show my partitions and the exact content of the relevant mounted directories in case anyone can offer any advice?

Pictures rather than pasted because I can't post from the box in question smile

Re: Failed to start Load Kernel Modules after broken upgrade

You need to reinstall the kernel. And every package that was involved with the failed update.

Re: Failed to start Load Kernel Modules after broken upgrade

OK, thanks. I'm at that point and no amount of searching helps me resolve:

$ netctl start <profile>
Running in chroot, ignoring command 'start'

Edit: got it, using a wired connection

Setup networking before you chroot in.
