Hi,
Env Info:
Browser: Firefox (85.0.2-1)
Installed FontAwesome: ttf-font-awesome (5.15.2-1)
On some websites, the Glyphicons are not displayed properly. They're rendered as squares. This only happens on some websites. On a Windows machine, the Glyphicons are displayed correctly with no issues.
Here is how they're rendered

Please don't post big images, see [1] .
I assume you are referring to the icons from https://www.glyphicons.com/ ?
I don't know ttf-font-awesome , but it doesn't provide ttf-font .
That suggests it may not provide full coverage .
Try adding packages that do provide ttf-font , like ttf-dejavu and noto-fonts .
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Image is replaced with thumbnailed version. thanks for the comment
I've installed all the suggested fonts, but still have the same issue. I can't tell what icons the website is using for icons, though

The example icons on https://www.glyphicons.com/ all work for me, could you give examples of sites/pages where the icons are not rendered correctly ?

The example icons on https://www.glyphicons.com/ all work for me too. However, https://config.qmk.fm QMK Configurator online configurator, for example for creating custom keyboard firmaware, it has a terminal to show progress of compiling. The terminal window shows these squares while showing the progress. Open the website and clieck on Compile at the top right. and watch the terminal showing the progress.
Here is a screenshot
