Disable 2.4ghz Band?

So today I got a new router from my ISP that uses one network and doesn't have one for 2.4ghz and 5ghz. *sigh* it's also locked down so I can't change almost any settings on it.

From what I've seen it assigns the type of frequency based on stuff it picks automatically and you have no control over it. Problem is I get super slow speed with 2.4ghz.

So how could I disable 2.4ghz so that it only connects to 5ghz?

I have a pretty bare Arch install with KDE Plasma. I've tried using iwconfig to change it and change the bssid within the wifi settings of Plasma. Both don't seem to work.

What else can I try?

You could limit the freq_list in wpa_supplicant.conf to only 5HGz bands or up the BandModifier5Ghz Rank in iwd.config, depending on what you use to connect to the station.
