Random freezes

Hello,
so my system is freezing randomly very often. I dont really know in what logs i should look, journalclt doesnt really show anything too bad, but maybe i just dont know what is bad and what not. At least no red errors.
Now i want to know in what logs i should look, or how i can troubleshoot this. It seemed like the freezes only appeared in a DE, but not with a WM, but now it also happenend with i3.
Sound is freezing, i cannot access any other tty's with ctrl+altF2, F3,F4...
Any help is appreciated.

NVIDIA driver version 460.39-8
and NVIDIA DKMS driver version 460.39-1

Use

sudo journalctl -b-1

after rebooting from the freeze. FWIW there's a known issue with the nvidia driver currently that hasn't yet seen a fix so it might be likely you are running into that: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/b … nce/155506

Okay, thanks.
Ive downgraded to 440.100 as recommended by the second last comment. Hope that helps. If the freeze occurs again, im gonna use the journalctl with the arguments you wrote.
i dont really know if i should mark this as solved, so im gonna leave it for now. but probably im wrong

Most of my random computer freezes have usually been hardware problems, typically bulged capacitors in motherboard or power source. Sometimes measuring voltages gives a hint, but not always. In the past bad ram memory was also common cause, but during this time of DDRx memory technology I've not had those problems.
