I just reinstalled arch and am now having issues with fonts in KDE. When I try to configure fonts in KDE control center or Konsole, there are a very limited number of fonts available and the default Bitstream sans vera is not available in any selection lists. Any ideas? I've installed both the xorg and kde meta-packages....
thx.

thanks for the reply. I've resolved the issue, though I'm not sure which step actually did it. I reinstalled the ttf-bitstream-vera font package, added the bitstream-speedo package, logged out, started the hal demon (which wasn't running previously.) Now everything looks normal.

ttf-bitstream-vera was removed from the xorg-server dependencies, as I'm planning to include those new fonts that have better foreign charset coverage, which will replace ttf-bitstream-vera then.
Fontconfig 2.4.x is also on the todo list, so I guess this will happen during the same time. With the move of fontconfig 2.4.x, I'll also try to get rid of ugly bitmap fonts when better scalable fonts are available, without disabling the actual bitmap fonts.
