What about peerman?
It seems smart idea to me. Everything could be a little bit more faster and more redundant.

Firstly, put some context in your post rather than making people go to another forum.
Also, I am surprised at the number of people who suggest this without putting any thought into it. Most packages are small and would be downloaded before peers were discovered. The very few large packages could improve speed, assuming you don't have a nearby mirror that can fill your pipe. Not worth implementing at all.
