Steam Fatal error: steam needs to be online to update

I recently installed steam on my arch laptop but it doesn't want to start, i have tried reinstalling the suggested x86 libraries the drivers of my graphics card and the openGL drivers but none of those things worked.
In the Arch wiki (Steam/Troubleshooting) is written that it could be a DNS problem but ... i don't know what that mean and how to solve it.

PS: I even tried the AUR steamcmd package but neither that did work

So how have you configured your nameservers?

Can we see the contents of /etc/nsswitch.conf & /etc/resolv.conf and the output of

dig client-download.steampowered.com

[!!SOLVED!!]Thanks but i solved installing the .deb package provided in the arch page for steam (https://archlinux.org/packages/multilib/x86_64/steam/) in the provided download link
I installed it trough debtap (package in the repos) and it worked fine
