When the lid remains open, how can I wake up my l-p by a key?

When the lid remains open and a laptop is asleep, I want, rather than pressing the Power button, be able to wake it up by pressing Enter or Whitespace. How?

Im guessing you mean wake from suspend, if somehow the hardware doesn’t allow wake from keyboard then that’s a problem...does the firmware menu shows something for configuring that?

cat /proc/acpi/wakeup

But notebooks have a tendency to not allow to wake on random keys because those are prone to be triggered by compression.

On my previous laptop with Arch Linux, and of the same brand, it was possible. I don't remember how I did it.

The lid

Unless the keyboards show up in lspci, the only two contenders could be XDCI and HDAS - writing them into the file like eg.

echo XDCI | sudo tee /proc/acpi/wakeup

will toggle the value.
I think XDCI is a usb debuging feature and enabling it might cause S3 to immediately break.
"HDAS" seems to be some PCB connector and I've no idea what it might be on your specific system.
