The application icons in my taskbar just changed size from one day to another on both my Arch Linux computers running KDE Plasma 5.20.4. Does anybody know what caused this and how to revert it?
Desktop running Kernel: 5.9.14-zen1-1-zen.

Same issue on my system, running Plasma 5.20.4, KDE Frameworks 5.77.0, and Qt 5.15.2. It's really annoying, it looks like they added some kind of vertical spacer to make it look "nice" or something as usual, but it's just an annoying waste of space.
It has changed on only one of panels though, the panel on my second monitor still looks normal for some reason.

This is now also an issue on my other computer running Arch. And I noticed that while playing videogames and tabbing out, the icon size is normal again. But when I close the game it returns to being really small.

I just uninstalled plasma-desktop and installed it again after rebooting. That solved the issue.
EDIT: Or maybe just deleting the taskbar and creating a new one might be sufficient.

In KDE Plasma, to change the "taskbars", aka "panels", icon sizes, just right-click the bar and select "edit panel" and then change the panel height accordingly. This also alters the size of the icons, nicely. Once finished, just hit the escape key. PS: Tested in Arch Linux and Debian. Will say "panel width" if the taskbar is on a side of the screen.
