I'm thinking of purchasing above mentioned board, I would like to know if ARCH will run on it?
Intel® I225-V 2.5Gb Ethernet: I've read of some issue "no connectivity on reboot", not sure if that issue is resolved?

That network issue appears to be a firmware issue. On linux that controller uses the igc kernel module.
[1] indicates it is possible (but ricky) to update the firmware in linux.
Looking at https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-s … model/spec I don't see things that won't work in linux.
There's one issue for all OSes though : hdmi 1.4 and dispayport 1.4 are not exactly the latest versions of those standards.
If you want to use screens above FullHD, you'll need a discrete videocard.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

The displayport 1.2 of my Z270 chipset with integrated graphics renders 4K without problem. Also the rog specs does say it has max resolution of 4096 x 2304 @60Hz.

I should have been more accurate, DP 1.4 can drive 8k screens, but HDMI 1.4 is more limited.

Hey guys, I just wanted to report back: I have bought and built the ASUS ROG as described above. I am running 5.11.1-arch1 kernel, and all is well. Everything initialized properly to my surprise and delight. The ethernet device appears fine, even after rebooting. Case closed I'd say.
